I am a Ramsgate lad educated
at St George’s School (When it was a boys school in Ramsgate.) I attended the
Ramsgate Art School (Sadly now long gone!) before a thirteen-year career in the
Army.
After leaving the Army I was
re-inspired to paint again by the founder of Acol Art Group - Ralph Martin.
Introduced to the magic of watercolour and capturing the beauty of the East Kent
Landscape. I am a self-taught painter, Although I learnt my drawing skills at Ramsgate Art School. I am influenced by JMW Turner, Rowland Hilder, Edward Seago & Ken Howard & very much admire the work of Local Artist Matthew Alexander, who has kindly guided me back into oil painting with fresh eyes and sent me on the journey of discovery! My preferred subjects are Land & Seascapes, local Kent views and Thames Sailing Barges. I also undertake private commissions. Most of the paintings now on the site by me are in oil. I also help run Acol Art Group as Group Secretary. Personal Motto - "Learn something new every day."
